Project Overview

EcoThrive completed the installation of odor control and sludge dewatering units for a wastewater treatment plant. The project was carried out to improve odor management within the treatment facility and provide a more effective method for handling excess sludge.

The scope included the installation of the required equipment, associated connections and system components, followed by testing and commissioning.

Odor Control System

The odor control system was installed to manage unpleasant odors generated from wastewater treatment processes, particularly around areas where sewage and sludge are collected and treated.

The system provides controlled extraction of odorous air from the relevant treatment areas and directs it through the odor treatment equipment before discharge.

The installation included:

  • Odor extraction system
  • Ducting and air connections
  • Odor control equipment
  • Associated piping and fittings
  • Equipment supports and connections
  • Electrical and control connections

The system was installed and checked to ensure proper airflow and operation.

Sludge Dewatering System

The sludge dewatering unit was installed to reduce the water content of waste sludge generated from the treatment process.

Mechanical dewatering separates water from the sludge, producing a more concentrated sludge cake that is easier to handle, transport and dispose of.

The installation included:

  • Sludge dewatering unit
  • Sludge feed connections
  • Polymer dosing arrangement, where required
  • Filtrate drainage connections
  • Sludge discharge arrangement
  • Associated piping and fittings

Installation & Commissioning

EcoThrive coordinated the installation of both systems and carried out the necessary checks before commissioning.

The work included:

  • Operational testing
  • System commissioning
  • Final handover

The completed systems were commissioned and made ready for operation as part of the wastewater treatment facility.
