Project Overview
EcoThrive was involved in the design, supply and construction of MBBR tanks for an 8 MLD sewage treatment plant. The project included process engineering, preparation of P&IDs and equipment layouts, supply and installation of key MBBR equipment, procurement, inspection, commissioning and final handover.
The MBBR process was designed to provide biological treatment of sewage using moving biofilm carrier media, with the required aeration system to support biological activity within the tanks.
Our scope covered the MBBR tank design and associated equipment requirements, along with coordination of procurement, installation, inspection and commissioning activities.
Engineering & Design
The project started with the development of the MBBR process design and associated engineering documents.
Our scope included:
- MBBR tank design
- Process calculations and equipment selection
- Preparation of P&IDs
- Equipment layout drawings
- Blower selection and sizing
- Strainer selection
- Equipment arrangement and coordination
- Review of installation requirements
The design was developed around the 8 MLD treatment capacity and the operating requirements of the sewage treatment plant.
Equipment Supply & Installation
Key equipment associated with the MBBR system was specified, procured and installed as part of the project scope.
The equipment scope included:
- MBBR aeration blowers
- Strainers
- Associated piping and connections
- Aeration system components
- MBBR tank equipment and accessories
Equipment selection was carried out based on the required process conditions and operating requirements of the treatment system.
Procurement & Inspection
EcoThrive managed the procurement process for the specified equipment and coordinated inspection activities before installation.
This included:
- Equipment procurement
- Supplier coordination
- Equipment inspection
- Delivery coordination
- Installation coordination
- Verification against project requirements
Commissioning & Handover
Following completion of the installation, the MBBR system was inspected and commissioned to verify the operation of the supplied equipment and associated systems.
The final scope included:
- Equipment checks
- Blower testing
- System inspection
- Commissioning
- Operational verification
- Client coordination
- Final handover
The project was completed with the MBBR system ready for operation as part of the 8 MLD sewage treatment plant.
