High-Capacity Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Solution
This project involved the design, supply and installation of an 80,000 GPD Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Treatment System designed to provide a reliable supply of high-quality treated water for high-demand applications.
With a production capacity of approximately 303 m³/day, the system incorporates multi-stage pretreatment, high-pressure pumping and advanced RO membrane technology to reduce dissolved salts, TDS, hardness and other contaminants from the incoming water.
Project Capacity
- RO Capacity: 80,000 GPD
- Daily Production: Approximately 303 m³/day
- Treatment Technology: Reverse Osmosis
- System Type: High-capacity packaged RO plant
- Application: High-demand water purification
Treatment Process
Raw Water → Feed Pump → Multimedia Filter → Activated Carbon Filter → Cartridge Filtration → High-Pressure Pump → RO Membranes → Treated Water
The pretreatment system removes suspended solids, turbidity and chlorine before the water enters the RO stage. Fine cartridge filtration provides additional protection for the RO membranes.
The high-pressure pump then supplies the required operating pressure to the RO membrane system, where dissolved salts, TDS and other contaminants are significantly reduced.

RO Membrane System
The RO stage forms the core of the treatment plant and is designed to provide high removal of dissolved salts and other contaminants.
The membrane configuration and operating conditions are selected according to the raw-water characteristics and required production capacity. Proper pretreatment is provided to minimize membrane fouling and scaling and to maintain stable system performance.
Water Recovery
The system can be designed for a recovery rate of approximately 60–80%, depending on the raw-water quality and membrane operating conditions.
The RO reject stream is discharged to the designated drainage system or can be considered for suitable non-potable reuse where applicable.
Control & Monitoring
The RO plant is equipped with suitable control and monitoring instruments to allow safe and efficient operation.
The system monitors key operating parameters including:
- Feed pressure
- RO operating pressure
- Product flow
- Reject flow
- Product-water TDS/conductivity
- Tank levels
- Pump operating status
Automatic controls can stop the system during abnormal conditions such as low feed-water level, high pressure or treated-water tank high level.
Installation & Commissioning
The project scope includes the installation of the supplied RO equipment, connection of the treatment components, testing of the system and commissioning.
During commissioning, the equipment, pumps, controls, flow rates, operating pressures and treated-water quality are checked to ensure that the system operates according to the required design conditions.
